How to use Scholopsis

Scholopsis is a browser extension that reads your grades and emails them to whoever you choose — parents, coaches, advisors, or yourself. Works for high school and college students. No school login required, no passwords stored.

  1. Download the extension source from GitHub →
  2. Open Chrome and go to chrome://extensions
  3. Enable Developer mode (toggle in the top right)
  4. Click Load unpacked and select the downloaded extension folder

Install the extension
Add Scholopsis to Chrome or Firefox from the links below. Takes about 30 seconds.

Create your account
Sign up at scholopsis.com — free to try. You'll never enter your school login here. Scholopsis only reads what's already on your screen.

Visit your grades page
Log into Canvas, Blackboard, Skyward, or whichever platform your school uses and navigate to your grades. Scholopsis reads them automatically. For Google Classroom, click 'Connect Google Classroom' in the extension popup once — then it syncs automatically every time.

Add recipients
In the Scholopsis dashboard, go to the Recipients tab and add the email addresses you want your weekly report sent to — a parent, coach, advisor, or yourself.

Done
Every week Scholopsis sends a clean grade summary to everyone on your list. You can also check your dashboard any time to see GPA, grade history, and change alerts.

Scholopsis never logs into your school on your behalf and never stores your school password. It only reads grade data already visible on your screen while you are logged in.

Experimental platforms are supported but may not work at every school — some institutions customize their setup in ways that can affect detection. If Scholopsis doesn't pick up your grades, let us know and we'll look into it.

Common questions

Does Scholopsis log into my school account?+

No. Scholopsis only reads what's already on your screen when you're logged in. It never asks for your school password and has no way to access your account on its own.

How does Scholopsis know my grades?+

The browser extension runs in the background while you browse your school's grades page. It reads the grade data already displayed and sends it to your Scholopsis account — if you can see it, Scholopsis can read it.

Will my GPA show differently as a high school vs college student?+

Yes. High school mode adds a 5.0 weighted GPA scale with AP and honors course weighting, and uses 9th–12th grade labels instead of Freshman–Senior. Scholopsis auto-detects your level from your gradebook platform, and you can switch manually in Settings.

When does the weekly report card send?+

Report cards go out every Sunday evening. You'll receive one as long as your subscription is active and you have at least one recipient added.

Can I join my school's organization without paying?+

Yes — if your school, athletic department, coach, or club has a Scholopsis organization, members join completely free. Only the organization owner pays.
